1. Dig The Hole: After pulling the Xtractor conveniently out of your back pack or ATV/UTV saddle bags, move the shovel head into digging position and find firm to semi-firm mud, sand, or dirt that is within reach of your winch cable. Dig a hole able 15" to 18" deep, or about the depth of the spade head.

2. Move The Xtractor Into "Recovery" Position: Adjust the Xtractor so the spade head is 90 degrees with the handle of the system, and lock the head into place. Then pull the anchor loop from the handle of the system. 

3. Place The Xtractor Into The Hole: Place the Xtractor into the hole with the handle facing your vehicle. Attach the end of your winch cable to the anchor loop of the Xtractor Vehicle Recovery System.

4. Use The Winch: Just as you would use your winch when anchored to a tree, rock, or other vehicle, the Xtractor is now engaged and anchored to the ground. You can use it to pull yourself out of the mess you've gotten yourself into!
